How much is an OwyheeStar?
We understand price is always a consideration, but it costs even the most passionate dog breeder to raise quality pups. Many inquiries start off saying they don't want a Show Dog, a Hunting Companion, or anything special. This seems like another way to say they are looking for inexpensive Weimaraner.
The initial cost is nothing compared against the cost of care, the training, and first couple of years, which holds extra expense. There are plenty of low-priced dogs to be had, and there are shelter-dogs. In the long-haul, none of these choices will be inexpensive.
In early 2013, we published a blog on this topic.
Idaho Veterinary Hospital (Dr. John Calhoun) is our go-to Veterinary Practice. As with any pet related business there is the need to increase the going rate from time to time. On several occasions we have been alerted to expect an increase--sometimes up to 15%. Everyone is facing the increased expense scenario, and these expenses must be passed along. OwyheeStar has tried to hold the line on the price, as much as it is possible to do so.
OwyheeStar puppy prices range from $ 1250 to $1500. The typical puppy cost is right at $ 1,250. The higher ($1500) price is normally reserved for the longhairs. All the pups within a given litter are priced the same. Females and males are priced the same. Blues, Grays, or Silver Grays are priced the same. The only exception would be a longhair in the litter would be the higher price. OwyheeStar does not discount pups, or make deals.
