We have a few male pups from this litter not yet promised. This is not typical for us; however, we have birthed more males of late than usual. Honestly, we love the male puppies--as do many of you. The sire of the litter is Blue--click here to see more information. Blue has produced many fabulous pups. He is coming to the end of his career.
He is nice-sized (about 85 Lbs) and has beautiful conformation. His body is proportional. Maybe what we like the most about him; however, is he has a calming effect on the typical Weimar pocket-rocket temperament. That doesn't mean the pup won't be a wild child (per say), but his influence tends to bring a factor--one of being teachable and manageable.
Age is not such a factor with a Stud Dog. They do stop producing and for this reason there is cutoff date for AKC registration of litters produced after a certain age. Blue is nine-years-old; that is not near the cutoff date. Regardless, at some point the Stud fails to produce litters in our experience, or the puppy count drops to one or two. As you can see, this is a nice-sized litter. It is manageable (we do not like litters of more than 10 pups because it is a lot for the mother to get raised). The pups may be fine, but we all understand that there are only so many teats; milk is somewhat limited.
Zula Blue weighs around 63-65 Lbs.
