April 10, 2018, @ 8:00 AM -- The process began early this morning. Thus far, there are three tiny bundles. Follow along with us. We cannot even guess what we will discover. Breathe in the beauty and give thanks for each mouse-sized baby.
8:30 AM -- We cannot even guess how many pups the Deja X Boone litter might produce. Thus far there are the three--this lineage is notorious for tiny pups and small-sized litters. So, we wait and see what happens together.
8:55 AM -- Another arrives and just imagine in comparison to puppy #3 how tiny it is. I did take a photo of it in Cliff's hand. Eventually, I hope to capture a snapshot with it next to the deck of cards.
Oh--to answer your question--"has a puppy this tiny ever lived?" Yes, I remember one that was either 2.8 or 2.5 ounces. I cannot be sure which it was (as it has been a number of years). At least, these are full-term pups. Nevertheless, the tiny ones are harder to get raised. We will be doing a lot of the around-the-clock hovering I suspect. (Holding our breath!)
April 11, 2018--at 9:13 AM ---the little gem is still with us. We are supplementing her and hoping for a miracle. We love her so much.
April 13, 2018 @ 1:15 PM -- the other tiny pup (#3 wearing the green collar passed over the rainbow bridge. She was not suffering but something was right. After a gallant effort by us and her the battle was lost. We are sad to see her go, but possibly it is for the best.
When You thought You Had seen Tiny
We will do everything possible to save these pups--including this tiny baby. It is not the smallest ever, so we keep that in mind and heart.
*April 10 @ 5:01 PM -- I am sad to report that #4 tiny baby has passed--I am ever so sad. Nonetheless, I believe while she lived she was celebrated and got everything possible from us. She didn't seem to suffer--just succumbed to her call. I can never take this lightly. Nonetheless, we must brush it aside soon. Others need us--there is no time grieve her loss. Let's agree she was a beautiful gift, and we wish she could have become the dream for which we hoped.
We hope for the remaining three.
